Recipe Friday

Today is the Recipe Swap over on Gayle's blog (http://www.grocerycartchallenge/). I love this blog and have mentioned it before. If you haven't already checked it out please do.

The recipe I have chosen to submit costs a little more for the ingredients, but the recipe is so delicious and perfect for company. It is definitely worth the occasional splurge!

Italian Sausage Pasta

5 hot Italian sausage links, skin removed
2 large cans of diced tomatoes
4 pts heavy whipping cream
3-4 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium onion, diced
1-2 Tbsp oil
crushed red pepper flakes (to taste)
16 oz penne pasta

Saute the garlic and onion in oil until translucent, set aside. In a medium-large pot brown the sausage with some red pepper flakes, drain. Put the sausage back into the pot, add onions and garlic. Add the cans of tomatoes and whipping cream. Heat until hot, but DO NOT BOIL!

While the sauce is heating through cook your pasta. Drain and stir into the sauce mixture. Top with parmesan. Serve with bread and a green salad. Enjoy!

Hi Liz :) You're recipe is missing something... the 4 cans of ____. It's the tomatoes:) Just thought I'd let you know. This recipe looks really good! I will have to try it sometime, we enjoy pasta dishes.
